Student Services at the University of Rennes



SIUAPS is the Inter-University Department for Physical and Sports Activities. It provides over 60 physical, sporting and artistic activities for students and staff at the universities of Rennes and Rennes 2.

Le Diapason

Le Diapason is the university's cultural service. With its auditorium, exhibition space, cafeteria and sports halls, it is a venue for life and culture at the heart of the Beaulieu campus. Renowned and emerging artists, numerous student projects, events combining the arts and sciences, a weekly film club, Le Diapason has it all. Every year, the Diapason hosts almost 120 events, and some 24,000 people enjoy the rich variety that makes it such a unique part of the cultural scene of Rennes.

Learning French

French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are provided as part of the Bienvenue en France label and are intended for international students on individual mobility (i.e. not on exchange programmes).

The university libraries are open to everyone with uncontrolled access. These include the libraries of the academic units of the University of Rennes, affiliated Grande Écoles or partner institutions.

Workrooms for study in the evening and at weekends

On each campus, the University of Rennes provides students with study rooms open in the evenings and at weekends.
Buddy sytem

For the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, the University of Rennes is offering a sponsorship programme, the Buddy System, which aims to improve the welcome and integration of international students who will be studying at the University of Rennes next year.
