The Show Venue
Each year, nearly 120 events are held at Le Diapason involving renowned or emerging artists, a multitude of student projects, events combining the arts and sciences and a weekly film club.
Some 24,000 people take advantage of this unique offer in the cultural landscape of Rennes.
Student rates vary according to the size of the show, from €5 to €8, and many events are free.
This space devoted to culture is multi-purpose, with two standing/seated configurations (700/500 seats), a 130m2 stage, sound, lighting and video equipment and the presence of two stage managers, making it possible to host all types of shows.
A space for creation
Le Diapason regularly hosts companies in residence for creations combining arts and sciences including Vertige, Oxygène and Richter Via Les Ondes.
Since 2005, many musicians have passed through Le Diapason, including Raahshan Ahmad, The Bikini Machine, Roy Ayers, Fred Wesley, Alice Russel, Kendra Morris, Robert Glasper Experiment, Didier Wampas and Mr Roux to name but a few.
An Exhibition Space
The exhibitions at Le Diapason are also varied and include scientific exhibitions, arts and sciences, as well as student projects.
The cafeteria is open from 9am to 5pm, at lunchtime for snacks (sandwiches, pies and salads), and on show nights for a drink.
Two acoustic rehearsal rooms are available to students, one equipped with an upright piano and the other with a digital piano.
You can also use the film photo lab and the digital editing bench in the video workshop.
Students wishing to rehearse in a group can join the Ampli, the association that manages the university's current music room.
Le Diapason also has three sports rooms, namely a boxing room, a dojo, and a gym.
