Meeting with Adina Revol, spokesperson for the European Commission in France

Adina Revol, Head of the Media Department and Spokesperson of the European Commission in France, came to the Cité Internationale Paul Ricoeur on Wednesday 1st March for an open discussion with about 50 students from Rennes. This event was organised in partnership with the Maison de l'Europe de Rennes et Haute Bretagne - EUROPE DIRECT, the University of Rennes and the Press Club of Brittany.

As one of the objectives of this day was to bring the European institutions closer to the citizens, Adina Revol took the opportunity to remind the participants of the functioning of the European Union and to explain the respective roles of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers, which are often not well known. First with the journalists during a press conference in the morning, then with the students at the Cité Internationale in the afternoon, the participants were able to take advantage of this meeting to exchange with Adina Revol in complete freedom, and to ask her their questions about the European Union.

Among the topics discussed were: the war in Ukraine, energy independence, disinformation, the green pact, climate transition and the different types of mobility offered by Erasmus +. The students present were also curious to learn about Ms Revol's background. This day allowed them to learn more about how Europe works, the impact of European policies on the territory and the opportunities offered by the EU.
